Actor Lee Joon-gi and singer-actress IU were spotted at a snow-capped mountain as part of filming for the upcoming drama “Moon Lovers.”

The drama production company on Monday released photos of the two protagonists, dressed in royal outfits from the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392) which is the period in which the romantic drama is set.
“Moon Lovers,” loosely based on the Chinese novel “Startling by Each Step,” centers on the fourth son of Emperor Wang Geon of the Goryeo Dynasty, played by Lee, and Hae-soo, a girl who time travels to the kingdom from the 21st century, played by IU.

Girls’ Generation member Seohyun is also among the cast of the star-studded drama, playing Woo-hee, the last princess of the Later Baekje Kingdom (892-936). She later becomes a palace gisaeng, or courtesan, after the collapse of the dynasty.

EXO’s Baekhyun, Hong Jong-hyun, Kang Ha-neul, Kang Han-na and Nam Joo-hyuk are in the drama as well.

The drama is helmed by director Kim Kyu-tae, who was behind “That Winter, the Wind Blows,” “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” “Iris” and “A Love to Kill.”

“Moon Lovers,” which will be an entirely pre-produced TV drama, will air in the second half of the year.
