The latest move comes amid YG’s growing efforts to expand its business into content production, investment and distribution in a bid to move away from its record label-focused business.

YG already has built up his experience of creating entertainment shows including Big Bang TV, 2NE1 TV, Winner TV and Mix & Match, which aired on local cable channels.

The TV series “Moon Lovers,” made based on the hit Chinese novel of the same name, will begin airing in September, featuring singer-actress IU and actor Lee Joon-gi.
