KBS’ upcoming web entertainment program featuring idol singers as scriptwriters and actors will be called “Ggotgilman geotja.”

The name roughly translates to “Don’t Stray from the Flower Road.” The official English name has yet to be decided.

Previously known by the working title “Idol Drama Operation Team,” the program decided on its official name, drawing inspiration from fans’ encouraging messages for the participating idol stars.

“Ggot-gil” means flower road or road of flowers, which refers to a bright path without hardships as opposed to a path of stones and thorns.

Fans had encouraged stars participating in the show to “stay on the flower path.”

“Ggotgilman geotja” is a variety program on which seven female idol singers will personally write scripts and act. It will feature Red Velvet’s Seulgi, Jeon Somi from the now-defunct I.O.I, Mamamoo’s Moonbyul, CIVA’s Kim So-hee, Oh My Girl’s YooA, Lovelyz’s Soojung and Sonamoo’s D.ana.

Actors Im Won-hee and Jang Won-young will take on the roles of chief and manager, respectively, of a makeshift entertainment agency on the program.

Dynamic Duo, Kim Chung-ha, Shin Hyun-joon, Jeon So-min, Kwon Oh-joong and others are slated to make cameo appearances.

“Ggotgilman geotja” will premiere on May 29 through Naver TV and YouTube.
