The search to find the future husband of Sung Bo-ra (Ryu Hye-young) in tvN drama “Reply 1988” is becoming an interesting point to pay attention to as Bo-ra embarks on another romantic relationship.

Ryu’s character Bo-ra is portrayed as an elite student from Seoul National University, a top notch college in Korea, with a stubborn and yet very clear view on every topic, including politics. The older sister to Deok-sun (Hyeri) often becomes mean and merciless.

The previous sequels of the “Reply” drama let viewers guess the lead character’s husband. In “Reply 1997,” it was the journey of Jung Eun-ji’s character Sung Shi-won to find her husband and, in “Reply 1994,” actress Go Ara was handed the role.

Now it seemed like in “Reply 1988” the focus would solely be on Hyeri, currently playing the role of Sung Deok-sun, as to find who her husband will be.

However, the drama is taking a fresh course as Bo-ra experiences a romantic relationship with Sun-woo (Go Kyung-pyo), who is one of Deok-sun’s friends and the one Deok-sun used to have feelings for.

With Bo-ra being close to Kim Jung-bong (Ahn Jae-hong) as well, the question remains as to whom she would end up with, that is, another version of the “man hunt” appearing throughout the drama.

The producer of the drama Shin Won-ho explains that for this sequel he tried to spread the spotlight across the characters, giving each of them a different storyline and love triangle so as to make the drama even richer.

“Reply 1988,” depicting everyday family life in the setting of a Seoul neighborhood in 1988, airs every Friday and Saturday at 7:50 p.m. on tvN.
