Singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong has filed a lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend, seeking 1.2 billion won ($1.05 million) in damages, Kim’s legal representative said.

The counter suit, filed Saturday, is seeking to regain 600 million won that Kim gave to his girlfriend last year.

Kim is seeking another 600 million in damages, claiming that she made false allegations and broke a confidentiality agreement through the media.

According to Kim’s lawyer, she allegedly made false claims she had been beaten by the star while she was carrying his child. She also broke the confidentiality agreement she made with Kim by allowing the settlement to be reported by the local media.

Kim‘s legal team argued that the ex-girlfriend, surnamed Choi, undermined Kim’s public image and disrupted his concert schedule.

In August last year, Choi sued the pop star, citing his alleged assault and resultant miscarriage.

Kim has since enlisted in the army. The suit initiated by Kim will come to court on July 22.
