Singer-actress Uee, who acted as the chaebol daughter Jang Yoon-ha in her latest work, “High Society,” said in an interview published Tuesday that she has “never been more criticized for poor acting.”

She said the experience prompted her to look back on her actress self.

“I realized that I have a lot to improve. I need to try harder to break through and not disappoint the people who count on me,” said the actress of seven years and eight works.

“My unclear enunciation made some viewers suggest I underwent a jaw surgery. I have a naturally small mouth, and speaking in low tones made my lines come out in a mutter,” she said.

Jumping from one drama to another also gave her little preparation time.

Uee starred in “Hogu’s Love,” which culminated on March 31, and dived straight into “High Society” whose first episode hit the airwaves on June 8.

“Jo In-sung sunbae (experienced senior) said that the viewers need some time to forget an actor’s previous role. I had inadvertently done at least one project a year throughout my acting career. In the first half of 2015 I’ve already participated in two projects. There won’t be more at least until December or next January,” Uee said.

“For my next job I want to take on the role of a villain if possible,” said the determined 27-year-old.
