‘Orange Marmalade’ stars show mixed feelings on wrap-up

Cast members of “Orange Marmalade” expressed mixed feelings on the conclusion of the TV drama after its two-month run on July 24.

Yeo Jin-goo, who played the all-rounder lead Jae-min, said he’s both happy and sad about the end of the show. “Our devoted director, staffs, and viewers were a big emotional support to me. I will continue to act my best in my future works,” he said.

Idol singer Seolhyun, who took up the role of a vampire girl Ma-ri, said, “I thank the costars, helpful senior actors, and the hardworking staff. I especially want to thank the people who watched the show till the end and supported my character, Baek Ma-ri.”

K-pop group CNBLUE’s Lee Jong-hyun, who acted as a male vampire Si-hoo, said: “It seems just a few days ago that I first read the script for this show. I can’t believe it’s already over. This work was an invaluable experience that made me grow (as an actor).”

Gil Eun-hye, who portrayed the jealous Ah-ra, said, “It was an extremely enjoyable experience. I feel sad to bid adieu to the shooting studio where we all had fun.”

Gil said she liked the romantic development with Si-hoo toward the end of the show. “Because my character Ah-ra was in a one-sided love with Jae-min, throughout the show I felt lonely. Ah-ra’s evolving emotions made me feel fulfilled,” she said.

The 12-episode “Orange Marmalade” was based on a Web-based cartoon.
