Yeo Jin-goo talks about 'Orange Marmalade' role

Yeo stars as a model student in "Orange Marmalade" whose love interest is a vampire played by K-pop singer Seolhyun from AOA. Singer Lee Jong-hyun from CNBLUE also plays a charismatic vampire in the drama series, which is based on the eponymous Web cartoon.
"I feel nervous and unfamiliar with this mellow role," said Yeo, 17, who debuted as a child actor at eight years old.
"I took part in my first shower scene for the drama so I was nervous, but the filming turned out to be quite relaxed," said Yeo. "The scene is not particularly exciting."
"My character (Jaemin in 'Orange Marmalade') is different to me in many respects. He is not easily swayed by his emotions and is quite calculative," said Yeo. "He's very much a considerate gentleman. In some ways, he has grown up quicker than (most) people -- though that starts to break down when he meets the female lead (played by Seolhyun)."
When asked if Yeo is as mature as his character, he said, "I'm not sure. I am quite rational (like Jaemin) but I'm also quite emotional. Other than when I act or research my role, I'm really no different to most high school students who like having fun. I'm also more outgoing than Jaemin."
Transitioning to a lead young adult role has meant acting now feels "more serious" to Yeo. He said the quality he most prizes as an actor is "instinct" and "intuition" for his characters.
"Orange Marmalade" kicked off on May 15 and airs every Friday at 10:35 p.m. The full interview is published in Korean in InStyle Korea's June issue.
