US radio spotlights iKon’s worldwide popularity
Living up to its reputation as an established global K-pop act, iKon recently appeared on the popular US radio broadcast iHeartMedia.
On Saturday, the program released its exclusive interview with the seven-member boy band, which covered a range of topics -- including its new album, “New Kids: Continue.”
Asked where he finds inspiration for his music, the band’s talented songwriter, B.I, said, “There’s a song called ‘Give It to You.’ I wrote it while staring at the sunset after feeling tired from practicing. It reminded me of our fans, and I wrote the song as if I were writing a letter to them.”
Chanwoo answered a question about the strong bonds between iKon’s bandmates, saying, “We rarely fight because we talk to each other a lot.”
The group also had an interview with Billboard on Thursday, in which it expressed gratitude for the huge success of its “New Kids: Return” album, which reached No. 4 on Billboard’s World Albums chart, and shared details about the group’s new single, “Killing Me.”
After putting out its latest album, “New Kids: Continue,” Aug. 3, iKon kicked off its “iKon 2018 Continue Tour” on Aug. 18 at Seoul’s Olympic Park Stadium. The band will perform in Taiwan, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, Manila, Jakarta and Hong Kong from September through November, as well as other destinations it has yet to reveal.
