Song Hye-kyo, 36, and Park Bo-gum, 25, will star in upcoming drama series “Boyfriend.”

The drama is likely to air on cable channel tvN in the second half of the year, the production company announced Monday.

For her first role since starring in the 2016 hit series “Descendants of the Sun” with her now-husband Song Joong-ki, Song Hye-kyo will play a daughter of an influential politician who marries into a wealthy family. She is cold and ignorant, never having had the chance to live her own life.

Meeting Park’s character, an ordinary, average man with a kind heart, her life is turned upside-down.

Park rose as a national heartthrob through the hit series “Reply 1988” and “Love in the Moonlight.”
