The past five months have been a roller coaster ride for Momoland and its fans, between the massive success of its hit “Bboom Bboom” and the wrongful accusation that the act rigged album sales.
What did the nine-piece group feel after the government probe cleared its name?
“Thankfully we’ve been able to break free from such accusations,” said Yeonwoo, during the showcase for its new EP “Fun to the World” in Seoul on Tuesday. “Rather than it (the scandal) hurting us, we felt that what we could do is show (the public) us doing our best. And so we did.”
Indeed they did, as the lead track off of “Great!” -- the EP that embroiled in the scandal -- became the first Momoland song to notch the top spot on a music ranking program by a major broadcaster.

But the group has never been one to reside on the past glory. For the new EP, the members said that they worked to master a variation of the shuffle dance.
“We had to practice seven hours a day, even moving around all day on our tip-toes,” Hyebin said.
Echoing the upbeat and catchy electropop vibe of “Bboom Bboom,” the album’s lead track “BAAM” is produced by the band’s frequent collaborators Shinsadong Tiger and Beomi Nangi. The song talks about encountering an unexpected love, expressing such feeling with the word “BAAM.”
“Actually, it feels like our comeback is an extension of our ‘Bboom Bboom’ activities as it hasn’t been long since we finished the promotions for the song,” Hyebin said.
The nine-piece girl band made its Japanese debut on June 13.
