‘Best Musician of the Year’ crowned

The Korean Music Awards announced the three winners of the “Best Musician of the Year” award Tuesday.

The honored awardees were Big Bang, singer-songwriter IU and producer-singer Park Jin-young. The three were each selected by the public as the best K-pop group, female musician and male artist, respectively.

The vote was carried out through the KMA website, with more than 20,000 participants. Big Bang won 5,321 votes and IU had 3,654, while Park Jin-young received 1,425 votes.

The Korean Music Awards will take place on Feb. 29 at the Guro Arts Valley Theatre in Seoul.
