Mega-hit U.S. talk-show “Conan,” named after the talented host, Conan O’Brien himself, has been creating buzz both off-line and on-line. On Feb. 11, a spokesperson for the show announced that O’Brien has included visiting Korea on his agenda--he is to arrive on Feb. 14. via Incheon International Airport and stay until Feb. 18. The purpose of his stay is to film special episodes for his talk-show.

Conan O’Brien was the long-time host of NBC’s signature “Late Night Show,” from 1993 to 2010, then left the show, to host “Conan,” on TBS.

O’Brien, famous for his sarcastic, yet insightful and witty talk, is expected to experience Korean Buddhism by visiting traditional temples, taste Korean traditional liquor, and learn basic Korean from a Korean-language expert.

The catalyst behind his visit is speculated to be a fan letter sent by a Korean fan. An associate of the show commented, “Conan didn’t take much interest in Korea before--including subjects regarding North Korea. However, he was very touched and astounded by the fact that he had several fans in South Korea.”

Last February, O’Brien has visited a Korean spa in Los Angeles with show “The Walking Dead” actor Steven Yeun, who is Korean-American. He is also considering hosting an exclusive fan meeting with his Korean fans and appear on several Korean shows, such as “Gag Concert” on KBS or tvN’s “Comedy Big League.”
