Dance music group Turbo, a sensational hit during the 1990s, is making a comeback on Dec. 21, one of its members said Wednesday.

Singer Kim Jong-kook broke the news on his official fan page, saying he and his two group mates Kim Jung-nam and Mikey decided to retake the stage with a new album.

Turbo, first formed as a duo with Kim Jong-kook and Kim Jung-nam in 1994 to become known as the “king” of Korean dance music, was a local sensation until 1997, when Kim Jung-nam left the group for personal reasons. Mikey stepped in to take his place, making a successful duo once again.

Kim referred to the group’s comeback after 15 years as very meaningful and special as it is also their debut as a trio.
Kim said, “I had to think about this for a long time. I was worried that there might be a chance of us damaging the memories of the past of being happy and successful.”

Kim also noted that now with the final decision made, he promises the fans that the group will be ready with the most quality, sincere song and performance.
