Actress-singer Yoon Eun-hye is under fire from the public and designers over allegations that she copied a local designer’s work for a coat she presented on Chinese TV fashion program “The Goddess’ New Outfit.”

In the episode that aired Aug. 29, Yoon designed a white coat with frills, which allegedly looks similar to a piece by local designer Yoon Choon-ho’s label Arche.

Yoon Eun-hye, however, rejected the allegations through her agency two days after the initial claim was made by designer Yoon, saying that she got inspiration from other fashion houses such as Victor & Rolf, a Dutch fashion house, and Lanvin, a French luxury brand.

The actress further argued that designer Yoon used her for a publicity stunt, further fueling public outrage.

“We regret that he accused (Yoon Eun-hye) of plagiarism via social media without offering verified information,” her agency JARMA Entertainment said in a statement Monday. “We hope (designer) Yoon doesn’t use the name Yoon Eun-hye to promote his brand ahead of the fall/winter season.”

Earlier Saturday, Yoon Choon-ho claimed that the actress copied his work by posting a side-by-side comparison of the two photos on his Facebook account. He claimed that Yoon Eun-hye wears his clothes regularly and even his staff members felt that the coat was plagiarized.
