Rookie K-pop group iKON will make its official debut Sept. 15 as planned, local news reported Thursday.

IKON, the newest idol group from YG Entertainment, was initially scheduled to make its debut Sept 15, two weeks after Big Bang’s album release on Sept. 1. But when the label’s headliner Big Bang decided to postpone their album release to a later date on Tuesday, speculations rose that iKON’s debut date would change as well.

But iKON’s debut date will remain unchanged, an official from the label was quoted as saying in the report.

IKON -- B.I, Jinhwan, Bobby, Yunhyeong, Junhoe, Donghyuk and Chanwoo -- made its first public appearance in 2013 through reality survival program “WIN: Who Is Next” as Team B, the losing team of the show. They were given a second chance to make a debut through another survival TV show, “Mix & Match,” in 2014.
