Hollywood sci-fi film “Equals,” in which Korean actors Park Yoo-hwan and Claudia Kim play supporting roles, has been invited to the 72nd Venice International Film Festival, the production team said Monday.

Park Yoo-hwan, younger brother of K-pop boy band JYJ singer Park Yoo-chun, and Claudia Kim, the Korean actress who played a role in the “Avengers” franchise, are expected to help shed light on the Korean movie industry at the film festival.

Claudia Kim, also known by her Korean name, Kim Soo-hyun (OSEN)
“Equals,” starring Christine Stewart and Nicholas Hoult, tells a love story in a futuristic setting of an emotionless world.

The film, directed by Drake Doremus, known for the 2013 film “Breathe In,” also has Korean-German actor Teo Yoo in a supporting role.

No Korean movie has been invited to the Venice film festival this year.

The 72nd Venice International Film Festival will be held Sept. 2-12.
