JYP Entertainment, home to K-pop star acts such as 2PM and Miss A, on Tuesday cautiously denied rumors surrounding the possible comeback of one of its top idol groups, Wonder Girls, saying “nothing has been confirmed yet.”

It is still uncertain whether the group will finally break its three-year-long hiatus, and if so, what changes will be made to the original lineup.

Wonder Girls gained huge popularity in 2007 and 2008 with retro hits “Tell Me” and “Nobody,” with which it became the first K-pop act ever to land on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in 2009. It briefly enjoyed fame overseas, touring in the United States and Japan.

The group disintegrated in 2013, however, when leader Sunye decided to wed and relocate to Canada where she is now a mother; and when ex-member Sohee decided not to renew her contract with JYP for an acting career with BH Entertainment.

For a number of years now, the remaining members have been reduced to low-key individual entertainment activities. Should the group decide to reassemble, it would be redeeming itself, after fading way since its last EP release “Like This” in June, 2012.
