South Korean singer Joanne died Tuesday succumbing to her injuries from a car accident. She was 26.

Joanne, whose real name is Lee Yeon-ji, spent a week at a hospital in Los Angeles after meeting with a car accident on Nov. 26.

The singer debuted with the first studio album “First Love” in 2011 when she was only 14. Her hit songs included “A Sunny Day” and “Innocent.”

But she suddenly left the K-pop scene and stayed out of the public eye studying in the U.S.

In 2012, Joanne attempted to return to the music industry through the TV audition program “Superstar K.”

Koreans severely criticized her for what they called lack of efforts and singing skills. She failed to proceed to the main round of the competition.

She then returned to the U.S. and has worked at a company in L.A., according to reports.
