NEW YORK -- g.o.d., Korea’s first generation K-pop boy band, wrapped up its 15th Anniversary Reunion Concert Tour in the U.S. on Sunday.
Kicking off the tour in Los Angeles on Friday, the five-member boy band concluded with a concert in New Jersey. This was g.o.d.’s first American tour since their debut in 1999.
Many enthusiastic g.o.d. fans shared and distributed g.o.d.’s signature fan symbol -- sky blue-colored balloons -- to other fans, while singing along to their most popular songs such as “Road,” “Lies,” “Dear Mother” and “Sky Blue Balloon.”
With the venue nearly packed at the New Jersey show, the tour was indeed a success, bringing back memories of the legendary first-generation K-pop stars among fans residing in the U.S.
As one of K-pop’s most beloved first-generation idol boy groups, g.o.d. has sold over 5 million albums since 1999 to its disbandment in 2005.
In May, however, g.o.d. surprised many fans as it announced its special comeback with all five original members for the group’s eighth album “Chapter 8.” It also vowed to donate all profits from the song to those suffering from the tragic Sewol ferry accident.
