Tzuyu of Twice marked her birthday with a livestream as promised.

She congratulated everyone who shares the same birthday, wishing them all a happy birthday, and gingerly made a wish before blowing out the candles.

“I wanted it to be like a date at a cafe,” she said, explaining her choice to broadcast live from a cafe within her company’s headquarters. The birthday girl lifted a glass -- filled with hibiscus tea -- to say cheers, and offered viewers a bite of her bread.

Although the promotion period for “More & More,” the title track from the band’s latest EP, was short, the group won a trophy on a television music chart program. On top of that, her last TV appearance coincided with her birthday, said the idol with a big smile.

She expressed her gratitude toward the fans who had tuned in to celebrate the day with her and confided, “I often think to myself when I’m alone that I want to share this with Once, but when I actually go live, I feel awkward and forget what I wanted to say.”

Once is the name of the band’s official fandom community.

Taeil of NCT 127 went live on his birthday to thank fans.

“Thanks to so many of you Seasonies congratulating me, I’m having a happy day,” he said, addressing the band’s official fandom community and assuring them that he was reading every single one of their comments.

As soon as the clock struck midnight, his bandmates came up from the fifth floor of the dorm and everyone gathered to mark the occasion.

“With two cakes!” said the birthday boy.

He said he’d seen some of the advertisements fans had put up at bus stops and in subway stations.

“A friend of mine told me that he saw me while he was riding the subway,” said Taeil, chuckling.

“It would have been so good if fans could gather together as well, right?” he said. The idol admitted that he’d always wanted his birthday to be special but it felt different this year.

“I thought of passing the day as just another day, but your congratulatory messages reminded me of the meaning,” he added.

The bandmates of TXT took to V Live as they wrapped up a one-month promotional activity for their EP “The Dream Chapter: Eternity.”

“As always, I have mixed feelings of being relieved and sad,” said Soobin.

“It was a little more of sad,” Yeonjun continued, “as we didn’t get to see Moas in person.” Moa is the official name of their fandom community.

“It is a complex feeling that we cannot dare describe in words. Even though we will continue (our career) and only finished promoting an EP,” added Taehyun.

They thanked everyone for their support and agreed that the day’s performance would be memorable as it was the last for the EP.

“The premiere stage for ‘Puma’ also will be unforgettable, although for a different reason,” said Hueningkai, bursting into laughter. The members nodded in agreement, recalling being covered in sweat as they danced in their leather costumes.

The Boyz' Hyunjae discusses hair, performance

Hyunjae of The Boyz chatted briefly with fans, jumping between talking about his hair and discussing the band’s performance on a competition program.

“I’m wearing this beanie because I cannot handle my hair,” he said. It was too hot for any kind of hat but he just couldn’t tame his hair, confided the performer, and he had to wear one every day even though he didn’t want to.

“You will be surprised if you see it in its natural state. It spreads out vertically,” he said. So much so that his fans may fall out of love, said Hyunjae, breaking into a grin when some fans told him they loved him just the way he was.

“I always am nervous and scared before any performance but those feelings were maximized before ‘Quasi una fantasia,’” he told fans about the band’s remake of Vixx’s song for “Road to Kingdom,” a TV competition show among K-pop boy bands.

“There were so many fringes on my costume. I didn’t like them ... one even got stuck on my mic,” he said.
