Youngjae of GOT7 took to V Live surrounded by dogs in a relay segment.

“Although you cannot see, there are close to 10 dogs including Coco here. So please understand when we hear a ‘woof!’” That triggered a chorus of barking.

“No, no. I’m a human,” said the idol, trying to keep them quiet.

He had to calm his dog Coco first. “She is actually scared because there are so many of them,” he said, and began the day’s mission: making snacks for the dogs.

“It will be easy since everything has been prepared,” said Youngjae, starting off by spreading sweet potato puree on the pie crust. He then added chunks of boiled pumpkin and salmon and sprinkled paprika on top.

“It feels as if I am playing house,” he said, smiling.

NCT 127 idols play guessing game

The bandmates of NCT 127 had a blast playing games on V Live’s entertainment program “Star Road.”

For the final round, they had to guess what their partners were saying while wearing headphones and listening to loud music. Everyone except Taeyong cracked up when Jaehyun told him to list all kinds of gimbap (seaweed and rice rolls) when they were given “tuna gimbap” as a hint. The two raised their voices every time they failed and soon were shouting at the top of their lungs, but only managed to get a few answers right.

“I really couldn’t get any,” muttered Taeyong, exasperated.

Mark seemed more confident. But when he saw the first word, “Parasite,” he was speechless for a few seconds and then passed. Mark shouted out the next words but Yuta stared at him with a mysterious smile on his face.

“Let’s at least get one!” begged Mark. They did get the last one right and hugged each other happily.

Kang Seungsik of Victon invited fans to join his online birthday celebration.

“Please blow out the candles with me,” he said after singing “Happy Birthday” to himself.

“It feels strange to do a V Live session to celebrate my birthday,” confided the performer, adding that he’d gotten dressed up and had his hair and makeup done for the occasion.

He was not sure what he should do, he said, but he’d prepared a few questions. Kang picked out a random sheet and was relieved to see the first question: Who was the sweetest member?

“I was hoping this would be the first,” he said. “I went back to the residence after practice and found miyeokguk boiling in the kitchen.” It was Subin who’d prepared the seaweed soup Koreans usually have on their birthdays.

“I was so surprised,” he told the fans. But Subin forgot the spoon, so he had to drink it out of a paper cup, laughed the birthday boy.

Big Bang's top 50 songs: Kpop Herald

Kpop Herald reporters Yim Hyun-su and Kwon Yae-rim picked Big Bang’s 50 greatest songs, chronicling the band’s decadelong discography.

The veteran boy band was supposed to make an official comeback, as a four-piece act, earlier this month at Coachella. Although the annual music fest has been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the band will still perform there whenever it is held, and most likely will come out with new music later this year, said Yim.

Having seen great success at last year’s festival with Blackpink, YG Entertainment will definitely put on an even more grandiose show for the quartet, said Kwon.

They started with the 50th from the list: “I Don’t Understand,” an R&B ballad that leans on the beautifully harmonized vocals of the bandmates.

“Haru Haru,” which means “day by day,” G-Dragon’s collaboration with Japanese DJ Daishi from 2008, came in sixth. The band was already big but this song solidified its position as a top idol group, according to Kwon.

The top five? “Fantastic Baby,” “Lies,” “Flower Road,” “Last Dance” and “Monster.”
