Pentagon Jin Ho spends ‘best holidays in life’ in UK

Jin Ho of K-pop boy band Pentagon had the best vacation of his life in the UK, the singer said on V Live on Friday.

“I didn’t get to travel a lot, but I can say that the UK trip was the best so far,” he said, after speaking at length about his recent weeklong holiday in Britain.

The main vocalist of the nine-piece act livestreamed for nearly an hour, the lion’s share of which were on where he went, what he saw, did and ate while in the UK.

When he learned about a weeklong break starting from Christmas Day, he called up his old friend now living in Cardiff, Wales, to ask if he could visit him.

Other than that, he did not have big plans for the holidays, he said.

But in the UK, he found there were so many things to do and many places to go.

The best part, he said, was going to the West End for musical “Wicked.”

“I cried. It was soooooo amazing,” he said.

The K-pop star also shared an episode with British immigration, which refused to let him in until his friend came to testify about his purpose of visit.

“I heard afterwards that it was because I said I was there to visit a friend and put in the friend’s place in the place of residence,” he said.

The immigration officer asked him what he was and Jin Ho, out of shyness, just answered he was a student, which he said was true.

IZ*One’s Japanese members take Korean lesson

Two Japanese members of IZ*One took a Korean language lesson from bandmates on a V Live broadcast on Friday.

“Hello. We’re back to learn more Korean and today’s teacher is …” Yabuki Nako, one of the pupils, said in the livestream aired on the act’s official V Live channel.

Then, Korean bandmates Jo Yuri and Ahn Yujin popped on the screen as teachers.

“The first Korean lesson, aired as a pilot show earlier, was received very, very well, garnering over 100 million hearts from viewers. And it has become a regular program,” Ahn said.

Jo said Nako was a great student, learning Korean very quickly. She might have to learn her native language from Nako, instead of teaching her, she added.

An update from Hotshot

K-pop boy band Hotshot aired a V Live broadcast on Friday, giving fans an update on how they spent the New Year’s Day.

“Three of us -- me, Yoonsan and Hojung -- went to Sokcho on the New Year’s Day and had our tteokguk on the beach,” Junhyuk said. Tteokguk is a traditional Korean rice-cake soup eaten during New Year celebrations.

Noh Tae-hyun, who is preparing for a solo debut this month, said he was busy recording the album.

“I was at the recording studio on the last day of 2018 and we decided to call it a day because none of us wanted to usher in the New Year there. When I got back to an empty home and turned the light on, it was already Jan. 1,” he said.

Fans asked about the possibility of his collaboration with Johnny Stimson, following the US singer’s Twitter proposal.

“I used one of his songs at a solo fanmeeting in Japan and he happened to learn about it and liked it,” Noh said, refraining to elaborate on the issue.
