BTOB’s Lee Min-hyuk will release a solo album ahead of his upcoming enlistment.

Representing the act, Cube Entertainment said Wednesday that the BTOB vocalist, who is scheduled to start his two-year mandatory military service in the first quarter of this year, will release the solo album on Jan. 15.

The singer has been confirmed to serve as a conscripted policeman, while the exact date for his enlistment has yet to be revealed.

Lee Min-hyuk’s upcoming solo album marks his first solo project since the self-produced original single “Purple Rain,” which was released as a part of the group’s solo project series “Piece of BTOB” in August last year.

Having debuted as part of BTOB in 2012, the 28-year-old singer will follow in the footsteps of bandmate Lee Chang-sub, who also released his own solo album in December ahead of his upcoming enlistment later this month.

Lee will be the third of the seven BTOB bandmates to enlist, following band leader Seo Eun-kwang in August and Lee Chang-sub, who is set to begin his service on Jan. 14.
