Despite the notable absence of its leader, BTOB made sure that fans would not feel the absence of Eunkwang during a recent K-pop awards show.

On Saturday evening, six BTOB members, Ilhoon, Minhyuk, Changsub, Hyunsik, Sungjae and Peniel, attended the 2018 Melon Music Awards held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, where they walked the red carpet and snagged the top 10 award.

The group did not have its full lineup, but what made fans burst into laughter was two Korean syllables written on Changsub’s cheeks: Eunkwang’s name in Korean.

The name of the missing member, written in bold black letters, showed how much the remaining bandmates were missing their leader, who has been serving in the Army since August.

BTOB reportedly played rock-paper-scissors to decide who would write Eunkwang’s name on his face.

During the event, BTOB also gave a heart-warming shout-out to its leader after receiving the top 10 award, saying, “We attribute this award to Eunkwang, who is training hard in this cold weather.”

BTOB recently released its “Hour Moment” EP, which includes “Friend,” a prereleased track featuring all seven members including Eunkwang.
