“I am at gate No. 9 (of Gangnam Station) now and have three minutes to go,” said Ailee inside a parked vehicle right before the busking started at 7:30 p.m.
“This was decided suddenly. Many of you might have been unable to come here, so I’ve turned on the V app,” she added.
The singer opened the street concert with her 2013 hit “You & I,” which was followed by “I Will Go To You Like The First Snow” and “I’ll Show You.” A huge crowd filled the street, as soon as Ailee, accompanied by two dancers, started performing.
“I feel so good. I really wanted to busk on a street. I might go busking at another place tonight,” she said.
After the performance, she returned to the vehicle and addressed the V Live audience again. “I may be busking in Hongdae later. Anyone who likes to have fun, come see me.”
Ailee is to hold solo concerts at the Olympic Hall in Seoul on Dec. 8-9.
