Choi Daniel was hoping for a rest after starring in “The Ghost Detective,” but when the chance to work with director Lee Jung-ho came up, he couldn’t turn it down.

In an interview with the fashion magazine Singles, he explained his decision to appear in the film “Beast” so soon after the KBS TV drama.

“It was a little chaotic as production (for the film) began soon after the drama. Though it would have been ideal to have rested after the series ended, I went out of my way since I wanted to play a role regardless of how important in a film directed by Lee Jung-Ho.”

Choi stroke a more serious tone as he discussed his outlook on acting.

“Acting leaves you wanting for more. It raises the bar for yourself,” Choi said.

Looking back on this year, Choi said though he worked hard he was not sure about scoring high in the happiness index. He also hoped for a better work-life balance in 2019.

The actor and singer cut a dapper figure in a photoshoot accompanying the interview, based around a concept of a “man who goes out after getting a phone call.”

Choi wore a brown corduroy blazer in what appears to be a hotel corridor.

The full interview and the photos are available in the December edition of Singles as well as its official website.
