Dean has spoken up for Sulli on Instagram, after the latter drew flak for collaborating with the Korean rhythm and blues singer for his track “Dayfly.”

The single features the singer-turned-actress. However, some listeners have expressed negative views toward Sulli, as many had assumed she left the girl group f(x) because she no longer wanted to pursue music.

Dean defended Sulli in an Instagram Story.

“Though there are many great female artists in Korea, I have thought and still believe that Sulli’s image and singing voice fit the song’s lyrics, melody and sad mood the most,” he wrote, tagging Sulli in the post with a shout-out.

“Dayfly” comes after Dean’s release of “Instagram” in January.
