Blackpink’s Jennie to debut solo

It's official: Blackpink’s Jennie is readying a solo debut.

On Thursday, a local media outlet reported the Blackpink vocalist has been preparing for her first solo album slated for release in November. It also said the artist had recently finished shooting for her new song’s music video in Europe, while her agency YG Entertainment hasn’t decided the exact date for the release yet.

Following the report, YG also confirmed Jennie's solo debut, saying, "Jennie, who has shown charismatic sides on stage and cute sides through TV shows, is set to show more various sides of through her upcoming album."

Having debuted as a member of Blackpink in August 2016, with numerous hits like “Whistle,” “Playing with Fire” and “Ddu-du Ddu-du,” Jennie is well known for her unique rapping skills and vocal.

Blackpink will hold its first solo concerts at Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Jamsil, Seoul on Nov. 10 and 11.
