Girl group Twice topped Japan’s monthly Oricon Albums Chart with its first full album in Japanese, “BDZ.”

The group’s agency, JYP Entertainment, said on Tuesday that the album scored 229,632 points in September, making it the best-selling record in Japan for that month.

This is the first time Twice has topped Oricon’s monthly chart. The group’s debut and best album, “#TWICE,” and its second Japanese single, “Candy Pop,” made it to the No. 2 spot in June 2017 and February 2018, respectively.

The nine-piece group’s first full album in Japanese remained atop Oricon’s daily singles chart for seven days in a row when it was released, signaling the group’s growing popularity in Japan, a country where three of its members hail from.

Despite its global celebrity status, Twice held an event for its fans at an outdoor theater in Seoul last month to celebrate its third anniversary.
