Red Velvet is set to receive an award at the upcoming 2018 Korean Popular Culture & Arts Award.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently announced that the K-pop act will receive the Culture Minister’s Award at the event, along with seven other acts, including rock band Guckkasten, actress Kim Tae-ri, comedian Park Na-rae and popular songwriter Kim Ea-na.

In its ninth year, the awards ceremony honors those who have made contributions to contemporary pop culture and the arts, including actors, singers, comedians and models.

Four different awards are presented: the President’s Award, Prime Minister’s Award, Cultural Minister’s Award and Cultural Merit Award.

The Cultural Merit Award will be given to BTS.

Red Velvet debuted in August 2014 with the single “Happiness.” It has released various hits including “Ice Cream Cake,” “Red Flavor” and “Peek-A-Boo.”

The five-piece act also visited Pyongyang in April to stage a performance alongside several other artists and went on to sweep domestic music charts with single “Power Up” in August.

The awards ceremony will take place at Olympic Hall in Seoul on Oct. 24.
