Actress Bae Doo-na said she enjoys the warmth on the set of Korean TV series during a showcase for her new show “The Best Divorce” on Friday.

The actress, who is returning to the small screen after nearly one year, spoke about the differences between Korea and the US. She has filmed shows in both countries.

“I always feel that Korean films and dramas, regardless of their budget, have this great energy that comes from the people,” Bae said. “We work hard together and become almost like family.”

She also said the filming of “The Best Divorce” was quite a different experience compared to the Netflix series “Sense 8,” a show that raised her to international stardom, given the latter’s more generous budget and international setting.

Bae also added that the schedule and system in general are quite different but refrained from going into detail.

Meanwhile, Cha Tae-hyun revealed that he had decided to join the show after he found out he would star opposite Bae, who he described as a “world-class star.”

Director Yoo Hyun-Ki, who worked with Bae for the 2010 series “Master of Study” echoed the sentiment, calling Bae a “world-class actress.”

Yoo added that Bae has grown as an actress over the past eight years, as she has traveled around the world working with various directors.
