Super Junior’s new single “Animals” has reached the top of the iTunes charts in 17 countries.

Representing the act, Label SJ said Friday that the song, released Thursday ahead of the upcoming EP “One More Time,” instantly claimed the top spot on iTunes charts in countries including Argentina, Bolivia, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Chile.

Featuring a tropical Latin sound, “Animals” talks about an irresistible attraction between two people. The album cover features animals from the Asian zodiac for each band member’s birth year.

Continuing the legacy of its “Lo Siento” (“I’m Sorry,” in Spanish) boom, Super Junior’s upcoming five-track album will draw on the style of Latin pop.

Super Junior will hold a grand showcase for its “One More Time” EP on Oct. 8, the date of its release, at 6 p.m. at MGM Cotai, one of the most luxurious casino resorts in Macau.
