YG Entertainment head Yang Hyun-suk sent a personal congratulatory message to Black Pink in celebration of its second anniversary.

On Wednesday, two posters of Black Pink were shared on Yang’s official Instagram account with the comment,” Girls that grew so much in only two years. Black Pink makes me look forward to the next two years to come.”

Since dropping its first two smash hits “Boombayah” and “Whistle” on Aug. 8, 2016, the four-piece girl group has became one of the most prominent acts in the K-pop scene.

Although it has not even released 10 original songs yet, Black Pink ? the first girl group under YG since it debuted 2NE1 in 2009 ? has seen tremendous success with almost every song released.

Almost a year after dropping the digital single “As If It’s Your Last,” the group returned with its first Korean EP “Square up” on June 15, fronted by “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,” which debuted at No. 40 on Billboard’s 200 chart.

Comments under the Instagram post included “Black Pink is your most successful group right now. Give it an October or November comeback,” “Give it a full album next time” and “Give Black Pink more activities too! One year of hiatus and releasing only one EP is not enough.
