In the aftermath of its unsuccessful audition show “Mixnine,” YG Entertainment is gearing up for another music program with a focus on hip-hop.

The agency said Monday that it is preparing a new hip-hop reality show, which will be run by producer Hang Dong-chul, the mastermind behind popular hip-hop audition programs “Show Me the Money” and “Unpretty Rapstar.”

After joining forces with YG in May last year, Han orchestrated “Mixnine,” an idol boosting show that ended up with poor ratings and criticism for nullifying the debut of the program’s winners.

“Our new hip-hop program won’t take the format of an audition and will be completely different from ‘Show Me the Money,’” an agency official said.

Details of the upcoming show have yet to be revealed.
