Kakao M said Wednesday that IU has inked a 10-year exclusive contract with the agency.

An official from the agency said, “IU has renewed her contract with us. Our longstanding partnership since her debut is to be preserved for a long time. We will continue with our full support for the artist.”

Although the singer’s contract hasn’t yet ended, IU reportedly showed her trust in the agency by bringing up the matter and making the decision in advance. IU debuted as the first solo artist of Kakao M in 2008, eventually becoming one of the country’s top singer-songwriters.

The top-rated singer also works as an actress, starring in TV dramas such as “My Mister” and “Moon Lovers.”
