Singer and rapper CL’s Hollywood debut film “Mile 22” will come to theaters in late August, with a sequel already in the works.

Directed by Peter Berg, “Mile 22” is an action blockbuster about an elite American intelligence agent who has to transport a police officer with life-threatening information 22 miles, or about 35 kilomters, outside the country before enemies attack.

The action-packed storyline has received positive reviews even before its official release, with producers having already announced the sequel.

CL will star alongside action star Mark Wahlberg as well as Lauren Cohan from “The Walking Dead” series. Previous UFC champion Ronda Rousey also stars.

CL was formerly in girl group 2NE1. Since the group disbanded last year, she has focused on her solo career in Korea and the US.
