Nine Muses‘ Kyungri doesn’t feel summer competition
Summer is the season for many artists to release new songs in hopes of creating the next top hit, and Kyungri, visual leader and vocalist of Nine Muses, is no exception.
Set to debut her solo album soon, Kyungri is confident in her ability to differentiate herself from other musicians.
“I feel like what sets me apart from other artists releasing summer tracks this year is the sort of fierce look my eyes I maintain in performances and my overall character,” said Kyungri during a showcase for her debut single “Last Night” in Seoul on Thursday.
She also adds that instead of viewing the other artists as competition, “I am happy to be able to publically share the songs I’ve worked so hard on alongside singers who are both older and younger than me.”
The young artist is right to be confident in her abilities as the chances that people will confuse Kyungri’s song “Last Night” with another artists’ work is quite slim.
In fact, she won’t have to only rely on her facial expressions and character to set herself a part as she stated that, “Men in high heels danced for my concept. People usually use women for back up dancers, but I used men in high-heels to add that ‘unique’ aspect. I love having male dancers.”
