Singer and actress Goo Ha-ra, or simply Hara as she was known in her days with girl group KARA, has become an honorary ambassador for the 6th Animal Film Festival in Suncheon, South Jeolla Province.

According to the festival, the singer was chosen as the ambassador because of her love for animals as shown through the media and by her volunteer work with animal shelters.

Goo commented, “I am happy to represent a festival that respects life and animal care. My pets give me so much comfort. Together with them, I will work to make a happier world.”

Goo has two cats and a dog. Her pets have also become well known through their TV appearances with her on “Seoulmate” and “Petorialist.”

The Animal Film Festival in Suncheon will be held for five days from Aug. 17 to 21 at the city’s Performing Arts Theatre and CGV Suncheon.
