Taeyeon’s ‘Something New’ album tops iTunes charts in 12 countries

Taeyeon’s latest album EP has topped iTunes charts in 12 countries, according to her agency Tuesday.

“Something New,” the artist’s third solo EP and her first record since “This Christmas? Winter Is Coming” EP released in December, climbed to the top of iTunes charts in Chile, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam and Cambodia, S.M. Entertainment said.

Along with the neo soul title track, the six-track album also includes “All Night Long,” “Baram X 3,” “One Day,” “Circus” and an instrumental version of the “Something New.”

The EP was released on Monday.

Taeyeon, a member of K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation, has also been carving out her niche as a successful soloist, releasing solo records since 2015. Some of her most successful solo tracks include “Rain,” “Why,” “11:11” and “Fine” and various soundtracks for TV dramas and movies such as “If You Hear Me,” “If” and “Missing You Like Crazy.”

Taeyeon is currently on a tour of Japan titled “Taeyeon ? Japan Show Case Tour 2018” which kicked off June 18 at Fukuoka.
