K-pop act Black Pink talked a lot about responsibility, shooting a pictorial with local magazine High Cut.

After finishing the photo shoot, the members talked about their careers in an accompanying interview.

“We now have responsibility that we have to meet fans’ expectations. Before the debut, we vaguely thought, ‘It will be nice to be on stage,’ ‘It will be nice if we have fans,’ ‘Will people like us?’” Jisoo said.

“But now, we realize that we have to make an effort to satisfy one single person. To show 100 percent on stage, we have to be fully prepared.”

Black Pink recently released its first EP “Square Up.” The double lead tracks “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Forever Young” have been topping the local music charts. The band’s return has long been awaited, as the previous record was released about a year ago.

“We had been spending time individually. For the release, we gathered to talk and it felt like turning a switch on. I felt reassured, learning that we were thinking the same thing even while apart. As the members are doing what they have to do in their places, I feel responsible too,” Jennie said.
