Hollywood blockbuster "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" has surpassed 4 million in the total number of tickets sold in South Korea, data showed Thursday.

Released on June 6, the film added 446,897 to its domestic total of 4,000,013 admissions on Wednesday, the eighth day of its run, according to the computerized box-office tally from the Korean Film Council (KOFIC).

In the follow-up to the 2015 smash hit "Jurassic World," which drew an audience of 5.54 million in the country, Claire and Owen return to the abandoned park at Isla Nublar to save the dinosaurs still living there from dying in a volcanic eruption.

Also on Wednesday, "The Accidental Detective 2: In Action" opened at No. 2, drawing 235,195 moviegoers. The film starring Kwon Sang-woo, Sung Dong-il and Lee Kwang-soo is the sequel to the 2015 comedy-detective film "The Accidental Detective," which was seen by 2.63 million people.

In the sequel, Kang Dae-man (played by Kwon Sang-soo), the owner of a comic book rental shop and father of two children who once dreamed of becoming a detective, and No Tae-soo, a legendary detective of the Seoul police agency, open a private detective's office and investigate commissioned cases.
