Dino of boy band Seventeen celebrated Coming of Age Day in a live broadcast held via Naver’s V app Monday.

“I guess you must be wondering ‘Why did Dino suddenly start the V app broadcast?’” he said. “(I held the broadcast) because I became an adult this year!”

In Korea, people celebrate Coming of Age Day on the third Monday of May. It is held in order to congratulate and encourage all those who have reached and will reach the age of 19 that year.

“So I’ve been wondering with whom I should hold the broadcast but I’m the only one who’s becoming an adult this year so I came alone to hold the broadcast,” he said.

“A staffer from my agency even gave me this rose, saying that it would be great for the V app broadcast” he said, showing the rose he got. On Coming of Age Day, people congratulate those who have newly become adults with a rose, perfume and a kiss.

Asked whether he was congratulated by his bandmates, he said, “When I became an adult, from Jan. 1 to my birthday and even after that, I’ve been congratulated on becoming an adult. So I’m almost tired of being congratulated for becoming an adult.”

The singer wrapped up the broadcast by congratulating fans who also became adults this year.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit http://www.vlive.tv.
