Actress Moon Chae-won will play a 699-year-old fairy in an upcoming TV drama series.

In the romantic-fantasy TV series “Tale of Gyeryong Goddess” (working title), Moon will take the role of a fairy who is working as a barista on Gyeryongsan.

The character, who is unable to return home because she has lost her fairy clothes, will meet two potential reincarnations of her former husband. Actor Yoon Hyun-min will be the male protagonist, playing the role of a biology professor, one of the potential reincarnations.

The series is a remake of a popular web cartoon series of the same title. It is a retelling of the classic Korean folktale “The Fairy and the Woodcutter.” The pre-produced series is likely to air on cable channel tvN in the second half of the year.
