'Memoir of a Murderer' wins 2 int'l awards

The 2017 crime thriller "Memoir of a Murderer" has won two awards at international film festivals, its Korean distributor, Showbox, said Thursday.

The movie won the Jury Prize at the 10th edition of the Beaune International Thriller Film Festival, which was held from April 4-8 in the French city.

It also took home the top prize in the Thriller category at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival that ran from April 3-15. A total of 11 Korean films, including the recent box office hit "Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds," were officially invited to the festival.

Based on the popular novel by Kim Young-ha with the same name, "Memoir of a Murderer" features actor Seol Kyung-gu as a former serial killer with Alzheimer's disease trying to protect his daughter from another killer. It premiered in September and attracted 2.66 million moviegoers in its local market. (Yonhap)
