SM singers hold press event in Dubai before 1st joint Arab-region concert

Singers of Red Velvet, TVXQ and other K-pop stars under SM Entertainment have held a joint press conference in Dubai ahead of the company's first Arab-region concert, according to the company Friday.

The company, South Korea's largest music label-entertainment agency, held a media event at the Address Downtown Dubai hotel Thursday evening (local time), according to SM.

The company said that major Arab media outlets, such as Gulf News and Khaleej Times, attended the event to cover the South Korean musicians, who included Kangta, TVXQ's U-Know Yunho, Super Junior's Leeteuk, Suho of EXO and Irene of Red Velvet.

The singers were greeted by 1,000 fans upon their arrival at Dubai International Airport on Thursday, SM said.

On Friday, The company's top artists are scheduled to hold a concert titled "SM Town Live World Tour VI in Dubai" at the Autism Rocks Arena in Dubai.

The SM Town Live series, a joint concert of recording artists under S.M., was launched in 2008 and has been held in New York, Paris, Tokyo, Beijing and other major cities around the world.

The Dubai concert will be the first SM Town Live event in the Arab world and one of the largest K-pop showcases ever in the region. (Yonhap)
