Heize shared the process of her transformation into a robot for “Mianhae,” via Naver’s V app Wednesday.

“The concept of the song is being locked away, becoming a singing robot on exhibition with people monitoring and inspecting me,” Heize said. She added that the video was shot in a hospital no longer in operation.

The special effects team adorned Heize’s costume with metal pieces, lending the singer a nonhuman, mechanical look. “I have been awake for 40 hours. I will sleep after this shoot’s over,” said Heize.

Heize took on the android look with bright blonde hair and a blue dress. She sat motionless while singing, moving her mouth as little as possible.

The shoot also involved a robot doppelganger. “It’s made based on my face mold. It looks ugly ... it has the worst parts of me accentuated,” Heize complained.

“I get goosebumps looking at it. Do people get goosebumps when they look at me?” she joked.

“Mianhae,” which translates to “Sorry,” was released March 8.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit http://www.vlive.tv.
