Wanna One tops 7 music streaming charts with ‘I.P.U.’
Project boy band Wanna One took the lead in seven music streaming charts with its latest song, “I.P.U.,” on Tuesday.
Wanna One’s “I.P.U.,” released at 6 p.m. Monday, was ranked No. 1 on Melon, Genie, Bugs Music, Mnet, Soribada and Naver Music as of 8 a.m. Tuesday. iKON’s “Love Scenario,” which reigned over most charts for more than a month, stood at second place or lower on most charts.
“I.P.U.” was pre-released from Wanna One’s second EP album, “0+1=1 (I Promise You),” which will drop on March 19. Monday’s pre-release was planned to coincide with the 333rd day since the group made its first public appearance.

The new album is headed towards a smash hit status, with pre-orders having reached 700,000 as of Friday.
Wanna One, comprised of 11 final winners of the popular elimination reality show “Produce 101 Season 2” on music cable channel Mnet, was selected by TV viewers, who cast a total of more than 10 million votes.
The band dropped its first album, “1X1=1 (To Be One),” in August in one of the biggest debuts of any K-pop act. The album sold 741,546 copies and the repackaged album, “1-1=0 (Nothing Without You),” sold 614,072 copies, a remarkable number for a debut album.
It won awards for Best Male Group, Best New Male Artist and Best of Next Artist at the 2017 Mnet Asia Music Awards. (Yonhap)
