Fan reactions to BTS’ AMA performance: ‘I cried’

International fans of BTS were beyond joyful in their responses to the K-pop band’s performance at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night, local time.

In comments and forums online, supporters of the boy band, which debuted in Korea in 2013, expressed elation and pride at seeing BTS perform on the global stage.

“They are finally getting recognized,” posted one fan on a YouTube video of the group’s performance. “I’m crying.”

“Am I the only one who cried?” added another fan.

Other comments included “They were so good, I’m so happy and proud” and “I love that this performance brought everyone together and gave American and British artists more knowledge about Korean music.”

BTS was the only Asian group in the lineup of 20 groups who performed at the AMA in Los Angeles.
