Song Ji-hyo promoted an upcoming Hallyu convention event to be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in a video released via Naver’s V app Thursday.

The actress is the honorary ambassador for Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo 2017 in Vietnam’s southern commercial hub, slated for Nov. 8-10.

“I hope trading between Korea and Vietnam to become more active. I ask your support for the Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo 2017,” Song said.

The cultural convention, one of the largest overseas events held by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, targets both overseas business and consumers to promote Hallyu and Korean products.

Moonbin of boy band Astro shared the story of his debut as a singer in a V app video released Thursday.

The talk show, titled “Me and Me,” showed the singer asking himself questions and promptly answering himself.

During the show, he said he signed with his current agency Fantagio when he was in the fifth grade, and he has been with the agency for eight years.

“But didn’t you debut way earlier -- when you were very young?” he asked himself.

“I appeared on TVXQ’s music video for ‘Balloons.’ That paved the way for me becoming a singer,” he said.

“Balloons” is a track from TVXQ’s third full-length album “‘O’-Jung.Ban.Hap.” released in 2006. The music video of which featured five young kids who resembled the five bandmates.

“That was really good momentum,” he said.

Moonbin’s group Astro released its fifth EP, “Dream Part. 02,” Wednesday.

Boy band Up10tion shared their tips for taking selfies in a V app video released Thursday.

During the show, a fan prompted, “I want to know your tips on taking selfies. I want to take good selfies as you do.”

Kuhn was the first to demonstrate how he takes selfies. The other bandmates of Astro said, “That face (on the screen) is different from that face (his real face). ... This is why social media is dangerous!”

“A tip for taking good selfies is (showing) the body part you want to emphasize -- jawline for example. Then stretch your arms high above your head at about a 45-degree angle,” Kuhn said.

“I try to use objects,” Jinhoo added. “I posted a selfie today that I took while I was working out. So I used a water bottle like this,” he said, as he placed the bottle on the table with the label forward and leaned down to demonstrate.

“I have a specific pose,” Xiao said, making a peace sign with two fingers in front of his right eye. “It’s almost like the signature pose of Xiao. When you search Xiao (on the internet), all the photos are like that,” his bandmate said.

“Everybody looks different from their left profile and right profile,” Sunyoul said. “So (to take good selfies), you should know which side of your face looks nicer. I look better from my left. So I take selfies of my left profile.”
